Tuesday: Small Fandoms

.

While I don't think we need to hold this to Yuletide standards, let's exercise a little common sense here. I mean fandoms like Avengers, Harry Potter, Supernatural and Teen Wolf obviously don't qualify.

Some simple rules:
+No more than five prompts in a row.
+No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
+If one of your prompts is filled, feel free to prompt again.
+If your fill contains spoilers please warn and leave plenty of space.

We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection (see further notes on this new option here)

Format for prompts:
Fandom, Character(+/Character), Prompt

Examples:
Forever, Henry Morgan & Abe Morgan, father knows best
The Musketeers (2011), Aramis/Athos, jealousy
Person of Interest, Harold Finch/John Reese, things fall apart

Not really your thing? Why not try to fill one of the lonely prompts and brighten someone's day. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ's advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.

Thrilling Adventure Hour, the Mars Marshaling Team meets the Doyles

the last drink on mars (Thrilling Adventure Hour, Frank/Sadie + Mars team gen)
There were strangers in Mordecai's saloon. This would normally be a cause for pleasantries, not panic, but Felton had come running into the marshal station shouting for help, and even if it was a false alarm, Sparks was curious. It wasn't very often that someone reported they were seeing ghosts. And the barkeep wouldn't want that kind of trouble in his place.

"Humans do not possess sufficiently advanced senses to perceive ghosts," Croach said. Sparks did a double-take. That was not the response he had expected.

"You mean Martians can see ghosts? Ghosts are real?" he asked, furrowing his brow. He was pretty sure Croach had caught at least a little bit of sarcasm from him, it was very contagious, but Croach seemed matter-of-fact about it

Red scoffed at him. "Course," she said, "'t ain't their fault you can't see 'em."

"What?" Sparks said. Felton seemed unphased by this. "What?" Sparks repeated.

They paused in front of the bar. Sparks shifted his weight uneasily. He wasn't sure what kind of protocol one used for confronting ghosts, especially if he couldn't see them. But then again, if they were hurting anyone, they could probably be hurt. So he put on his robot fists.

"Let's go," he said.

The Doors to the bar slammed open behind him. The Doors, sounding a bit miffed, announced that they were open.

"Hi, Croach," the Doors said. Sparks tried to ignore them as he took in the scene.

The bar was a mess. Tables were flipped over and chairs on their sides, broken wood scattered across the sawdust floor. The place was completely deserted except for two figures. There was a woman sitting on a barstool, and a man standing behind the bar. Sparks had never seen either of them before, but they turned and smiled at the group as they came in.

"Hello!" the woman said cheerfully. "What a wonderful bar you have in here!"

She waved a hand and her gold bracelets clinked together. She didn't put down her drink.

"I hope you don't mind. We thought we'd serve ourselves after everyone left in such a hurry," the man said. "Don't worry, I intend to pay for everything we drink. And I am a generous tipper."

He held up a number of small green bills as if that would mean something to them.

"Who are you?" Red asked, shifting her weight in a way that suggested she might start shooting if she didn't receive quick answers.

"Terribly sorry, darling, we're used to everyone knowing who we are. It's been so long since we've done any traveling," the woman said, and she drained her glass.

"Because traveling is horrible," the man reminded her, draining his own with a shudder.

"I'm Sadie Doyle and this is my lovely husband, Frank Doyle. I think we've gotten a bit lost. And a lot drunker than I thought. Is that man actually blue?"

"What else would I be?" Croach said.

"Some shade between pastel and deep brown," Frank suggested.

Croach bristled a little and Sparks decided it was time to intervene. He put a hand on Croach's chest to hold him back.

"Someone reported..." Sparks said, and then hesitated, "a... disturbance in this here bar. And it seems pretty disturbed."

"Oh, yes," Sadie said, "but we've taken care of it. You could buy us a drink in thanks."

"Or, try this on for size," Sparks said, "since the bar is tore up and you're the only ones here, how about I arrest you for destruction of property and terrifying sober people?"

"Oh, Frank, look at his little gold badge! And the cowboy hat! I might like to be arrested, what do you think? I bet it is very quaint in their little jail!" Sadie said. Frank poured them both another drink and they clinked their glasses together, which made an oddly loud noise. He slapped another couple of green bills on the bar.

"I don't think so, Sadie," Frank said, but his voice was indulgent.

"What is wrong with these people?" Red said, interrupting the banter.

"There is a ghost here," Croach said, looking up suddenly, looking around.

Sparks only had time to say, "What?" before he was suddenly upside down, being held up in the air by one ankle by something he couldn't see, at all.

(By the end of the night, he'd bought both of the Doyles two drinks, Red got a stellar new recipe for cocktails, and Croach let Sadie touch his antennae, but only once.)
