Seasonal Tuesday

I'm withasmile87 and I'm your guest host this week. This fine Tuesday our theme is seasons which means anything to do with the seasons. Maybe your prompts will have some fun in the sun or stuck together in a snowstorm but anything to do with the seasons.

Just a few rules:

No more than five prompts in a row.

No more than three prompts in the same fandom.

Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.

No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.

If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.

If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!

Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt

Some examples to get the ball rolling...
Charmed, Piper Halliwell, She enjoyed winter the best because she got to make her favorite dishes.
Doctor Who, Amy Pond/Clara Oswald, Lazy summer days.
The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes/Negan, They met in the spring.

We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2017 collection. See further notes on this new option here.

Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1(not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.

While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Not a Fill

(Also, all I can think about now is "Bad Water".)

I was thinking about that, too. ::grins::

Fill. Stargate: Atlantis/seaQuest, Ensemble.
The rain was the herald.

“We're out of time.”

The wind that started was strong enough that Nathan knew, without a doubt, that the hurricane they'd been racing had gained on them. There was no chance for the evacuation team to return, there was no time for them to even make it to seaQuest.

He peered out of one of the tall windows: it wasn't sheeting down, not yet, and they had the 'jumpers to shelter in. They'd brought food with them, packs of the MREs and dried fruit, and plenty of water, having been prepared to settle the Athosians in the mainland caves for the duration if they wouldn't leave altogether. Lucas was with Jonathan and Beckett, he'd be safe with them while Kristin and the others held the fort within the city.

A gentle hand brushed his and he looked over at Kristin; she looked as worried as he did, both of them clearly thinking back to another hurricane.

“They'll be fine,” he told her.

“They always do come home, don't they?”

A sudden spike of lightening and a clap of thunder tore their attention back to the window, Elizabeth rounding the corner with Sheppard and McKay in tow.

“We have a problem.”

The wind, that was the hardest part: despite their time in Atlantis, both Lucas and Jonathan still considered themselves submariners and there certainly was no wind miles below the surface. Currents felt softer, even when they were nearing deadly.

“Lucas,” Jonathan called into the rear compartment as the winds shifted the 'jumper again.

He replied, “I'm all right,” though his voice was certainly strained, and Carson declared, “That's it, I'm resetting the inertial dampeners. Last thing we need is children with bloody head trauma.”

“Ship's already pretty heavy, doc.”

“Can't be too careful.”

As if timed, a gust slammed the 'jumper, prompting Ford to say, “I see your point,” then, “How long do we expect this to last?”

“Well, given the size of it the last time I saw the data and how quickly it made landfall...” Lucas paused to think, “Four to six hours, maybe more if it stalls over the water.”

The 'jumper slid again, the wind howling over the body of the shuttle.

“Well, if it blows us toward the water, seaQuest's not far.”

“We have to sink the city.”

“Sink the city. We still have a team out there. There's a chance they could get out of it once the eye is overhead.”

“If the eye goes over them. Even then, it would take an extreme amount of skill to get back to Atlantis,” Rodney countered, “I doubt even Sheppard could do it.”

“Lucas has spent vast amounts of time in those shuttles, Dr. McKay.”

“I'm not saying he hasn't. I'm saying he hasn't flown it in a category 5 hurricane.”

Elizabeth took in the sight before her: Nathan grit his teeth, preparing to argue further, while Rodney's face was reddening. John was looking at her and Kristin with a lifted eyebrow; he was still geared for the rescue mission he was sure he could conduct.

“Gentlemen,” she started, “we still have communications with them, even as spotty as it is. Now, if and when the eye crosses their path, I think it would best if instead of coming to the city, they head for seaQuest.”

Both men deflated; John appeared put upon, likely biding his time before they were alone to either argue with her or disobey.

He was good at both of those.

“We'll sink the city, Rodney, after we've made contact with Puddle Jumper 2. Make sure they're aware that they need to go to the water, not the city, if there's a chance for them to do so.” She looked to John, “I think we need to make sure that everyone is secured in their rooms for the time being. I don't want anyone wandering the halls while we do this.”

“I'll see to it.”

“Lose the gear, Sheppard.”

He gave her a little half-smirk, clearly understanding her motivation and reached for the straps of his vest.

Then the Stargate started up.

Re: Fill. Stargate: Atlantis/seaQuest, Ensemble.
Oh, noooo! I know what's coming! LOL! I love how you've switched things up with the inclusion of the seaQuest gang and I wonder how events are going to play out with those differences.

Love, love, love! Thank you!

Thank you! :D I do so love hooking the AUs into my favorite episodes... which I'm guessing are rather obvious at this point, LOL.
