Be a Guest Host!

Hello, everyone!

As you all know, this community relies a lot on guest hosts to keep up a theme for the day, so here's your chance to give back!

Sign up to be a guest host! All you need to do is leave the following in comments and you'll be given a guest host week!

Please use this form exactly as it is.

Who: Your LJ name (no link please and this is case-sensitive; please put it as it is in your url)
When: What week you'd like. Can also be next available and/or pinch hit
What: Your themes (Be sure to give 5 of them as themes are done Monday-Friday)
How: Reminder messages are sent out the weekend before your scheduled week, how would you like this message delivered: via PM or e-mail? If e-mail, please leave it here or PM it to me

The first available week is January 6-10, 2020 and the rest of the calendar will be filled in accordingly. While week claiming is first come, first serve, those who ask for specific dates will be given those dates and others filled in around that.

Lonely Prompts Week is tentatively scheduled to happen the last week of March, June, September, and December.

If you are unavailable during certain times, please let us know and you will be scheduled accordingly.

If you would also like to be a pinch-hitter, you can fill out the same form and for the when spot, put pinch hit. Also, be sure to include your 5 themes. If you signed up to pinch-hit last year and were never used, I have brought you over to 2020.

Behind the "spoiler" tag are a list of dates and those who have signed up for them. Please check the comments to see which dates have already been given away vs what's been updated in this entry.

Fourth Sunday of the Month

If this is your first time at comment_fic on Sunday, you can either post a previous prompt, or fill one. Or both!

How to do this:

Looking for prompts? You can find them in various ways! You can rummage around at the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet, or go into the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.

Whichever you decide to do, prompt or fill (or both!), please remember:

1. You can only request five prompts to be filled.
2. You can request no more than three prompts from a particular fandom.
3. You can, however, fill as many prompts as you'd like!
4. In the subject line, be sure to say whether this is a request or a fill!
5. You must link back to whatever the prompt is in the community logs (whether filling or requesting it be filled), and, if you're filling the prompt, please complete the fill as a response to the original prompt.
6. If you are filling an "any/any" prompt, please let us know what fandom (or, if original, say so!) you're using for the response.
8. If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
7. If you filled any lonely prompts earlier this week, this is the place to share them!
9. Finally, we have a community at AO3. If you have an AO3 account, please post your fills there. More information on how to do this is located at this link.

Hosting Format change?

It was brought to my attention that we are out of guest hosts. I am scheduling something for next week, but that still leaves February (and the rest of the year).

This also gave me an idea that I wanted to bring to everyone.

I propose a change to the hosting format. Rather than 5 days of hosting, there would be 10 days. That means anyone who signs up to host would give 10 themes, schedule/post 10 entries. They would still be Monday-Friday with Saturday being the free for all and Sunday will remain Lonely Prompts day.

eta: I should have made it clearer that there would still be the option for 5 days of hosting.

So when you sign up, you would tell me whether you are signing up for 5 days or for 10 days so that I can make note of that in the calendar when I assign dates.

Please leave you comments with your suggestions or any comments you have about hosting going forward.

And please, sign up to be a guest host!

Monday : 80s music lyrics

Hello, everyone. I’m cornerofmadness and today's theme is 80s music lyrics. I’ve noticed a resurgence in all things 1980s and since I was a teen then I’ve been floating on an 80’s high (at least as high as our hair was back then!)
