Fics should take place either before or after the events of canon.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Ouran High School Host Club, Souh Tamaki, explaining the wonders of commoners’ ways to his grandchildren
+ Lucifer (TV), Mazikeen, her first day on the “job” in Hell
+ RPF, the members of One Direction as preschoolers, no guarantees
+ Author’s choice, any characters, last kiss
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2020 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

He loved all his students and saw the potential in them though it amused him the ambitions their parents held. Liam's mom who was certain her son was going to be a famous writer because he could form mostly legible letters at age four. Or Zayn's dad who was convinced his son had an artistic soul and temperament because he needed the largest box of colored pencils available and refused to share them with any of the other children.
Then there was Niall's folks who decided their son was going to be a comedian because he never stopped laughing, though Simon was pretty sure that wasn't how comedy worked. And Louis' family who felt sure that his tendency to brag about everything made him the perfect candidate to either be a politician or a talk show host.
His favorite though, was Harry's mom, she saw an aspiring actor or performer of some kind in her son because of the epic tantrums he threw when he was caught trying to eat paste. The boy was determined, Simon would give him that.
Already nostalgic even though the kids had barely had time to reach the parking lot Simon smiled. Who knew? Maybe those five and all of their friends would reach for greatness and achieve it. Maybe they would work in bakeries and on golf courses. Ultimately, as long as they were happy with themselves and their lives that was what mattered.
