Sunday Free for all

Today is the last day of free for alls before the EPIC QUARTERLY CHALLENGE (dun dun dunnnnnn).

A basic heads up on how the challenge works:

The entire week is going to be nothing but Lonely Prompt fills, because our lonely prompts are amazing and deserve awesome homes. We will have six winners of the week, one winner per day (Mon, Tues, Wed, etc), and the grand winner, who writes the most prompts over the course of the whole week.

The themes for this week will be:

Monday - Fandom Pioneers; the person who writes the most prompts in the oldest fandom (for example, the Bible is pretty old)
Tuesday - AU Fest; the person who writes the most AU!themed prompts
Wednesday - Cross Fandom Extraordinaire; the person who fills the most prompts in the most fandoms
Thursday - Character Harem Owner; the person who fills the most prompts using the most characters
Friday - Cross-over Master; the person who writes the most cross-over prompts

So get ready! But for now, welcome to your free for all

You know the drill, three prompts per fandom and five prompts per person, until one of your prompts is answered. Then you can post another. :D

And if nothing here suits your fancy, you can take a look at our Lonely Prompts.

And let the fun sexy times begin!

Final Fantasy VIII, author's choice, fading memories

"It's time to go back inside," a voice spoke behind him, "It's getting cold, you know."

Squall turned to stare at the young man standing behind him. He was a child, no older than fifteen maybe. Or was it twenty? Still a child, still a boy. His son, his heir, or maybe his grandson? The former headmaster of SeeD sighed and shook his head. Did it even matter if he was his son or grandson?

The child looked like him, brown hair, gray eyes. No scar marred the boy's face but it was only a matter of time. Maybe never.

Squall lifted a hand and fingered the mark on his face, eyes squinting in thought, trying to remember how he gotten it.

He was young, probably as young as this boy. No, he was older when he received it. Not too old, just a bit older. Or younger. He wasn't too young or too old when he received his scar. He was green. Ah yes, he was very green. It was an accident. No wait, a misjudgement on his part. He was in a battle with something--a monster?

That sounded right. He was fighting a monster and his face was scarred as a result. Or maybe it was in a battle with a soldier? Some opponent that was trying to take over some territory that SeeD was paid to defend? That sounded about right, too.

Squall sighed heavily to himself, dropping his hand. He was getting old, as it should. He wasn't immortal, or invincible despite what other said of him. He knew what they said, knew that they proclaimed him to be a Hero.

A hero of what? The world? The country? The story of his so-called heroism was something he could never recall, no matter how many times he had heard it. They all sounded the same after a while, no matter what version they told him. Maybe that was his problem, he simply did not care about his past, or maybe it was never that important, after all.

But somehow, he knew it was important but the reason why was something he couldn't quite put his finger on. It was a long time ago. Or maybe not so long ago. He could be just exaggerating about his importance, or maybe he wasn't. His memory was never quite as good as it used to be. It could have been just age, or maybe it was something else.

Squall shook his head and stood. Maybe it was something to consider some other time when he was able to remember more without anyone's assistance. "Alright. Let's go."
