Indexes and Lonely Prompts

Want to go back and read past prompts? Not feeling inspired by today's prompts and want to try a hand at some unanswered ones? Follow the links below, courtesy your friendly neighborhood Code Monkeys!

(The old archives of completed prompt indexes are listed here after the Delicious listings. To view the completed prompts listing at the new archives, go here. For the lonely prompts listing, go here.)

All our current archiving can be found at our Delicious account. If you're having problems using it, please take a peek at our FAQ, and then if you still need help feel free to contact havenward or our current Code Monkey Queen, camshaft22.

When at the Delicious page, if a tag has been abbreviated, when you hover your mouse over the tags in the listing in the right hand sidebar, it will display the whole tag. At times we have utilized acronyms to represent a fandom. Below you can see a working list of fandom acronyms that we're using. If there's a common acronym your fandom uses (not just personal to you, please) that you think will help, please let me know!

Hi. For some reason I can't access the Lonely Prompts pages and just keep getting an error message every time I try. I'm not sure why?
Feb. 22nd, 2009 11:09 am (UTC)
I just took a peek at codemonkeys (which is where the Lonely Prompt Indexes are housed) and I didn't have any problems accessing the journal, the Indexes, or a few random prompts listed in each. I guess that means it's either LJ or connectivity issues :( I don't a few other people right now that have been having problems with various places loading, and LJ is one of them...

Unfortunately there's some coding errors in the sci-fi section (end of the Hero's section) and at the bottom of the Crossovers II, they're showing as raw text.

Thanks for the head's up!

Hi - I can't access the Stargateverse, Original or Buffy/Angel lonely prompts pages. They don't show up for me on the main codemonkeys page; I get a 403 Forbidden when I click the links, as if they're friends-locked/private, and it's been like that for the last few days. Just wondering if it's just my LJ being dumb. :(
Apr. 7th, 2009 05:21 pm (UTC)

It will be fixed ASAP! So very sorry D:

For some reason I'm unable to locate any Narnia prompts, though I'm fairly sure some are around (I know one was written just this past week, actually). Help, please?
Apr. 29th, 2009 06:40 pm (UTC)
Narnia prompts are found in the Miscellaneous section. :)
May. 10th, 2009 07:03 pm (UTC)
Where's the second half of the misc. comp promps btw?
May. 10th, 2009 07:09 pm (UTC)
Sorry about that. The second Misc Index didn't get added cos I've been sick this weekend and not paying enough attention... If there's still something missing let me know!
May. 16th, 2009 05:59 pm (UTC)
Hi, there doesn't seem to be any link to the second supernatural index page.
May. 16th, 2009 06:03 pm (UTC)
I've probably fudged the coding up. Lemme take a peek!

ETA: Yup, made href into herf by mistake  Should be working now!

http://community.livejournal.com/comment_fic/42807.html?thread=9405495#t9405495 hasn't been filled yet, but somehow has been put on the completed prompts page.
May. 24th, 2009 10:12 am (UTC)
Thank you! Will let the next codemonkey know!
May. 26th, 2009 04:41 am (UTC)
I'm terribly sorry to be such a bother but I noticed the Kiesha'ra prompts I left were misplaced in the 'Miscellanea A-G; Comics' section. They're actually fantasy. *curses small fandom obsessions*
May. 26th, 2009 04:42 am (UTC)
Can you be more specific about which prompts you're referring to? (there's a lot of stuff in the comics section, heh)

Heroes, Sylar/Mohinder, the first apology

Heroes, Matt/Mohinder, aftershave/cologne

Thanks! But you don't need to let us know unless we ask for it at the theme. We've got very diligent code monkeys that sort through everything.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

I think the House prompts from May 25th (Episode titles) are missing from the House lonely prompts list.
Jun. 14th, 2009 06:19 am (UTC)
I'll look into it, thanks.
Jun. 22nd, 2009 02:30 pm (UTC)
I don't usually tell you 'cos your code monkeys do a brill job but I answered -
from February.
Jun. 22nd, 2009 02:51 pm (UTC)
Thanks! But you only need to let us know either when we ask for a list (like during contests, which you leave at the contest entry) or when the answered prompt has been missed for more than a week (please note that at codemonkeys, on the index the prompt is in). A monkey will get it on the next go round!

Can you please reconsider this set up and put the lonely prompts on a totally separate page from the indexes?

I can't tell you how many times I've come here for lonely prompts and ended up clicking accidentally on the indexes because the lists are so long the headers are off the page.

It would really be helpful and reduce a great deal of frustration. You can always put links to the other page on each one, but doubling up doesn't seem to have much benefit at all.

Jun. 27th, 2009 03:45 pm (UTC)
Because of the way we're keeping things organized, we'd prefer at this time not to make a new page.

However, at the top of the page I've now put a reminder in bold that the beginning of the page is completed indexes, and a link that will jump you lower on the page to just the Lonely Prompts. I hope that helps!

This prompt for The Dark is Rising ("Dark is Rising, Will/Bran, Fire and Sleet and Candlelight") is listed under games; it's a book-fandom and should actually go under 'fantasy'.
Jun. 27th, 2009 04:21 pm (UTC)
Thanks for the note! Please make mentions like this at the Index where you find them - it's easier for the monkeys to get to them that way. I'll send it on to the person for tomorrow. :)

The link for the SciFi lonely prompts list doesn't appear to be working.
Jun. 27th, 2009 06:20 pm (UTC)
I think I just made a typo when editing the list this morning - It should be working now... Let me know if it isn't!
