Friday: Free For All

Hey guys! The weekend has all but officially begun. And you know what that means? That's right! Any fandom, any pairing or grouping, and any prompt are welcome!

But please be sure to format your prompts appropriately for the sake of your friendly neighborhood Code Monkeys! For example:

Supernatural, Sam/Dean, "I always wanted to be in a comic book"

AtS/Leverage, Angel/Eliot Spencer, "no human should be able to do that"

Not seeing any prompts that just reach out and grab you? Try checking out our collection of Lonely Prompts. We've got a little of everything, hopefully we've got something for you!

Speaking of Lonely Prompts, this weekend will be another Lonely Prompt Challenge. It will run from 0:00 PST Saturday to 23:59 PST Sunday. But we're going to tweak things just a little bit, so please make sure to read the challenge post tomorrow.

And with that, happy writing everybody. And have a great Friday!

Deadpool, Deadpool/Siryn, just one touch

The only thing that could possibly delay his rendezvous with Death (sweet, beautiful Death), did.

And of course, it was Theresa, crying (sweet, beautiful Theresa). While the rest of the funeral party was having, well, a real party - trading blows and grunts and lawn chairs across the head - she was removed from the chaos, still beside his casket, tear-dropping onto his photo. That bad a photo, he didn't ask.

Now that he was really, finally dead (thank the big Chinchilla in the sky) it wasn't his place or his duty to console her. And anyways, wasn't she Irish? Some give that girl a beer and a strong pat on the back! But just the same, he thought, it would be nice to hold her. One more time, just one last touch, for old time's sake.

It was at that time that an occurrence so opportune, it could only have come via contrived plotting on behalf of a unpaid author, happened. From out of the cloud of fists and adamantium and shredded black suits, Al and Weasel limped, the blind woman supported by the younger man's guiding arms. Her hair was frazzled; his glasses were badly damaged. They were mostly whole, though, and their relief at that was plainly visible.

Deadpool, well, he did the only thing he could do, the only thing that was right and honorable.

He jumped into Weasel's body, threw Al back into the cloud, and readjusted the black suit he was now kind of sort of wearing.

Before she could protest, shove, or (the real kicker) scream him away, he seized Theresa in a tight, snug hug and just - held on. She was sort of shaking, sort of tense, but after a moment her entire body went limp against him and she let the comfort come. He couldn't smell the red curls, but he remembered their scent: clean and soft and ridiculously feminine. He remembered being hesitant to touch them, afraid of damaging them, but now he just dropped his head into the pillow they made. This is nice, he didn't say.

We should have done this more often, he didn't add.

And then, because the light in the distance was growing stronger and closer, because Death was a patient mistress, but not that much so, he had to let her go. He eased his grip, kissed the top of her head, and started to pull away. She flashed him a small, appreciative smile, and he beamed back, until he remembered she didn't know it was him.

So he thought, maybe a reminder was in order, and he reached back one more time. His hand squeezed her butt just as Deadpool was jumping out of Weasel, and even as he faded into the Great Nothingness of Whatever, he could hear the piercing edges of her siren scream.

He giggled. Oh life, adieu.

Death: Hello, Pretty Mama.

I liked how you snuck Death in there. If people don't read Deadpool, I'm not sure they'd realize that she's...well...a "SHE". As in...not a metaphor, LAWL.

after you said this, i read it and i was like, LOLZ, it totally reads like a metaphor or something.

But WE know she's not.
