Thursday - the supernatural

Wow, where did this week go?

Thank you to everyone for making my hosting duties such fun and I hope you guys enjoyed the ride!

For my final theme of the week, I'm going to indulge myself a bit and open up the theme to all things that are supernatural/unexplained/go bump in the night. This can mean vampires and werewolves or ouija boards and magicians... you are only limited by your imagination. If it is unexplained, mythical or magical, then its fair game today.

As always, any fandom, pairing or grouping are welcome, just please be kind and format your prompts correctly.

Fandom, Pairing, Prompt
Fandom1/Fandom2, Pairing, Prompt

Some examples of todays theme might be:

Leverage, Eliot/authors choice, gypsy curse
RPS, JDM/Christian Kane, siren song

Finally, if nothing strikes your fancy in today's theme, there are always the Lonely Prompt indexes waiting for some love and affection.

Thank you again for a great week and happy prompting!

She told him to wait in the car.

But then, she always tells him to wait in the car -- and even when he tries his best to be good, that never seems to work out.

It's only a matter of time before he leaves the car in the alley and rushes in after her and the other officers. The loud commotion he makes draws her attention, and she glares at him in annoyance from where she stands, back pressed against the wall, gun aimed down the hallway down which she was advancing.

"Castle!" she hisses. "I will shoot you..."

He barely has time to roll his eyes and fake an explanation before a loud crash is heard. They can barely make out the scuffle taking place at the other end of the hallway, where the other two officers are engaged in hand-to-hand combat with a dark-clad stranger -- probably the killer.

Beckett aims her gun, her hands trembling slightly, as the stranger leaves the other officers unconscious and approaches her with inhuman grace and speed.

"Stop, or I'll..."

She's unconscious before she can finish the sentence.

"You gonna try and stop me, too?" the stranger asks Castle in a tone of weary resignation, heavily accented.

Castle's a writer, not an action hero. He holds up both hands in a gesture of surrender, taking a pointed backward step.

"Hey... no problem. Just... go on your way... preferably without killing anyone..."

"Don't do that anymore, mate, don't worry."

The blond in black gives him a wry smile -- which suddenly fades, his eyes narrowing as he sidles further into Castle's space, studying him far too closely for the novelist's comfort.

"Hey... don't I know you?"

"Um... pretty sure that's a no." Castle shakes his head emphatically. "Never seen you before in my life."

"You wouldn't just be saying that so I don't return all the rather gory, unpleasant favors I owe you, would you?"

"Again... no clue what you're talking about." Castle's voice is trembling slightly with alarm, because although he doesn't recognize the striking stranger at all, whatever he's talking about doesn't sound like a particularly good thing. "Look, man... I don't know you. I think you've got me mixed up with someone else."

"Right," the blond drawls, still studying him for a tense moment before shaking his head with a sigh and taking a step backward again. "All right, then. I'll be going now... and I don't hurt people anymore, but I will... if I have to. Got it?"

Castle nods. "Be my guest." He gestures toward the exit with dramatic flair.

The stranger frowns, clearly still troubled.

"You're... sure you've never gouged someone's eye out before?"

Castle shudders at the unbidden mental imagery. His writer's imagination is both a blessing and a curse -- more the latter in moments like this.

"Positive," he assures the stranger. "I don't do physical violence."

Beyond the stranger, he can see Beckett stirring on the floor, and tenses, preparing for the loads of badness that will occur if the stranger doesn't leave, now.

"Right," the blond repeats. "I'm off."

And he is, almost too quickly for Castle to see him move.
