Monday: Pre-Series

Hi, everybody! I'm aurilly and I'll be your guest hostess for the week. *waves*

To get started, let's go back even before the start. Today's theme is pre-series. What were characters like before all the madness began? If your favorite pairing only met during the run of the show, what about an AU in which they met ages before? Sorry, but this is a NO RPS day (don't worry, it's the only one of the week).

Please use the following formats (the second is for crossovers) in order to help out our hard-working codemonkeys:
Fandom, Pairing, Prompt
Fandom1/Fandom2, Pairing, Prompt

A couple of examples:
Lost, Sun/Penny, bored during daddy's golf game
Heroes/Ugly Betty, Nathan/Daniel, a wager
Please remember to only leave one prompt per comment and to space out your prompts throughout the day so as not to overload any one page.

If nothing here tickles your fancy, take a gander at the Lonely Prompts index.

A/N: Follows on Loosening the Knots over here.

"So do they bite?" Ronon asks as the stable hands lead over two horses over to them.

"Some of them," John says, nodding calmly. "These are pretty calm. They won't bite or kick."

"Good," Ronon says, more nervous than he was willing to admit even to John. His wounds were mostly healed but he was still pretty sore.

John shows him how to mount up, how to guide the beast. They take it slow, going at a slow walk from the fence where they'd started down a pasture and towards some trees in the distance. It was quiet and peaceful. They didn't talk as they rode, letting the silence and sharing of something that had been important in John's childhood suffice for sharing. It was more than enough for Ronon, especially as they rode into the forest and along a trail that came to a little lake.

"Used to go fishing here," John said, smiling peacefully. "Haven't been in years."

"You bring a fishing pole?" Ronon asked, looking at that peaceful smile with joy.

"Nope," John said, grinning sheepishly.

"Could go skinny dipping instead," Ronon said, eyeing John.

"You're on," John laughed. "Last one in is a rotten egg!"

"What's that supposed to mean?" Ronon asked, confused.

"It means that you have to catch me," John said, grinning wickedly. He spurred his horse and laughed. Ronon laughed and followed suit, chasing John down to the water's edge.

The only thing more lovely to picture than John and Ronon on horseback has to be John and Ronon skinny-dipping. Thanks for giving me both. :D

Oh, this was lovely! Funny and sweet, and I love seeing Ronon, who is always good at every physical activity, be nervous about riding a horse.

Thank you so much! I really love John and Ronon together. I think he was nervous about it because they're a beast he doesn't know and he's still recuperating. I'm glad that you liked that touch.

*grin* It is an appropriate icon! Thanks for the comment--so glad that you enjoyed the story!
