Wednesday: Hello and Goodbye

Hey hey hey! I'm mahmfic your host. Today's theme is Hello and Goodbye. Otherwise known as, first and last encounters. Interpret as you wish.

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.

Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt

Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ The Muppets, Gonzo/Camilla the Chicken, when his eyes met hers
+ Pacific Rim, any, Stacker Pentecost's funeral
+ Once Upon A Time, Rumplestilskin|Mr. Gold, everyone leaves him in the end

We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option here.

Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.

While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

his mobile Walden Pond (Leverage, Nate/Sophie + Parker/Hardison/Eliot)
"Nate, I think you need to see this," Sophie said, raising her husband from a comfortably deep sleep by putting her phone in his face. When his eyes focused properly, he was looking at an animation of the Terminator staring at him from behind his sunglasses.

"What is this, Sophie?" Nate said. Sophie pulled the phone back and looked at it herself. Then she scrolled a little with her finger and showed him again.

"WE'LL BE BACK," was written in black Arial font underneath the picture.

"Do you want to watch the Terminator?" Nate asked. He was still a little groggy.

"It's Hardison's blog, Nate!" Sophie said, exasperated. "He posted that three hours ago and he hasn't answered any of my calls. Parker or Eliot aren't either."

"You read Hardison's blog?"

"He posts the most adorable photos of the three of them. From the neck down, he's careful about their Internet presence," she said.

Nate got out of bed and took the phone from Sophie, scrolling back through the last few posts.

"Parker told me that they were working on something big," Nate said. The blog posts were a mishmash of tech news, recipes, and cat pictures. If there was a coded message in here, he didn't see it. But computers had never really been his thing.

"It must be pretty bad, if Hardison's willing to go off the grid for a while," Sophie said, lips thin with worry.

"We've -- we did that before, remember? We came back," Nate said, trying to be reassuring as he put on his pants and found his phone. Like Sophie's, it had been heavily modified by Hardison, and he was pretty sure you could use it as a tracking device. Although he was also pretty sure that Hardison had to enable that feature.

"After everyone almost died!" Sophie said, and she was up and pacing now. Nate followed her, wrapping his arms around her from behind, trying to get her to be still.

"They'll be fine," Nate said. "They're good kids. Smart kids. They can take care of themselves, remember? That's why it was okay to leave."

"I know," Sophie said. "I know." He could still feel the tension in her shoulders.

"Let's give them another hour," Nate said. "Then I'll make some calls, okay?"

Sophie sighed. "All right. I'm sure they're all right."

She didn't sound like she believed it.

"Four more hours to Disneyworld!" Parker said, leaning across Eliot to shout out Lucille's open window; Eliot frowned but didn't complain about the elbow in his gut.

"It is definitely time for a vacation," Hardison said, turning up the music and singing along.

"Three good old folks, behind the wheel, vacationing off-grid in Lucille!"

Eliot looked down at his phone. He still didn't have any service. Hardison was taking that fact pretty calmly, considering. Eliot had expected him to turn the van around when they made it into rural Alabama, but Hardison seemed to be operating on the theory that he just needed to make it to civilization as soon as possible.

Eliot kind of wanted to check the baseball score, but he guessed it would wait. He let Parker twist around to sit in his lap, and started singing along.

Re: his mobile Walden Pond (Leverage, Nate/Sophie + Parker/Hardison/Eliot)

This is amazing :) I love all of the characterizations - all spot on. And I love that it's to take a vacation, that Nate reassures Sophie that they can handle things, that Eliot is just silently annoyed when Parker elbows him in the gut lol, and that Hardison is willing to go off grid for even a little time to spend time with them.

Thank you!!!!
