First Sunday of the Month

If this is your first time at comment_fic on Sunday, you can either post a previous prompt, or fill one. Or both!

How to do this:

Looking for prompts? You can find them in various ways! You can rummage around at the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet, or go into the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.

Whichever you decide to do, prompt or fill (or both!), please remember:

1. You can only request five prompts to be filled.
2. You can request no more than three prompts from a particular fandom.
3. You can, however, fill as many prompts as you'd like!
4. In the subject line, be sure to say whether this is a request or a fill!
5. You must link back to whatever the prompt is in the community logs (whether filling or requesting it be filled), and, if you're filling the prompt, please complete the fill as a response to the original prompt.
6. If you are filling an "any/any" prompt, please let us know what fandom (or, if original, say so!) you're using for the response.
8. If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
7. If you filled any lonely prompts earlier this week, this is the place to share them!
9. Finally, we now have a community at AO3. If you have an AO3 account, please post your fills there. More information on how to do this is located at this link.

How to link:

...
Now it's time for the free for all!

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.

If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!

Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt

Friday | Names

A happy Friday to you all! I'm creepy_shetan, and my time as your guest host has come to an end (this time around, at least). Thanks to everyone who left prompts, wrote fills, and checked out the themed posts this week. =^.^=

Today's theme: names. Why are names important? (Or not important?) Does a character like their birth name, or do they prefer a name they earned later in life? Are names something to be feared or considered a burden? Do names bring comfort or remind others of loved ones they've lost? Perhaps a couple of characters share a name but wear it very differently. However you want to look at it, prompts and fills should feature names today. Whether it's the name of a who or a where, please try to use proper nouns.

A few rules to keep in mind:
✦ No more than five prompts in a row per day
✦ No more than three prompts in the same fandom per day
✦ If one or more of your prompts is filled today, then you may prompt again
✦ Use the full names of the fandom(s) and character(s) in your prompts
✦ For prompts, no spoilers until one month after the release date (use a spoiler tag to hide part or all of the text)
✦ For fills, warn for spoilers, and either leave blank space before the text or hide the text under a spoiler tag
✦ Include a warning in the subject line for any possible triggers

Please remember to use the proper format for prompts.
➔ ➔ ➔ Fandom [/ Crossover], Character [+ or / Relationship], Prompt
Again, please include the full names of the fandom(s) and character(s). This makes it easier to add prompts to the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and to find prompts through manual search.
(Author's choice prompts and original fills are also more than welcome!)

Examples:
For a single fandom:
✧ The Librarians, any or all of the team, the doors that open (or slam shut) thanks to the name Ezekiel Jones
✧ Final Fantasy VII, Rufus Shinra (+ or / any), the Shinra legacy
✧ author's choice, any, they've had many names in their life but they've become rather fond of this one

For multiple fandoms / crossovers:
✧ DC/Marvel (any 'verse), any of the Batman Family + any among Clint Barton + Remy LeBeau + Logan + Tony Stark, so many nicknames

We use AO3 to keep track of filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and (cross-)post it to AO3, please add your story to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2019 collection. For more information, please go here.

A backup version of this community is available on Dreamwidth.

If the plot bunnies aren’t biting you today, feel free to check out our Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets (here and here) or the community's archive calendar. You can browse the main themed posts and Saturday free-for-all posts for prompts to fill (and fills to read). Or you can check the Sunday posts for requested prompts (and fills written that week). There's also LJ’s advanced search options -- however, it currently seems to only search entries posted in this community, not comments.

While the above are available options, the simplest method might be to bookmark prompts that you like as you find them and return later when inspiration strikes. (There are no rules against multiple fills for the same prompt, by the way. ~_^)

Have a nice weekend and take care! ❤

Thursday | Questions

Hi! ^_^ How is everyone doing on this lovely Thursday?

Today's theme: questions. All prompts should be in the form of a question. (Having questions in your fills is up to you!)

Again, please include the full names of the fandom(s) and character(s). This makes it easier to add prompts to the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and to find prompts through manual search.
(Author's choice prompts and original fills are also more than welcome!)

For multiple fandoms / crossovers:
✧ Grimm/Leverage, Nick Burkhardt + Sophie Devereaux (+ any), "Was I going too fast, officer?"

We use AO3 to keep track of filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and (cross-)post it to AO3, please add your story to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2019 collection. For more information, please go here.

Tuesday | New Year, New Drabbles

Happy New Year! :D Did you wake up early to watch the first sunrise of 2019, or did you stay up well past midnight? (Or maybe you passed out early and woke up late...?) No matter how you spent the first few hours of this year, I hope you're up for some prompting and writing. ^_^

Today's theme: drabbles (any multiple of 100 words). Prompts can be about anything your heart desires, but fills must have exact word counts in multiples of 100.

A few rules to keep in mind:
✦ No more than five prompts in a row per day
✦ No more than three prompts in the same fandom per day
✦ If one or more of your prompts is filled today, then you may prompt again
✦ Use the full names of the fandom(s) and character(s) in your prompts

✧ any Gundam series, any pilot(s), general maintenance or minor repairs to their mobile suit
✧ author's choice, any, confetti flies everywhere when they turn the ceiling fan on for the first time that year

For multiple fandoms / crossovers:
✧ Eureka/The Good Place, Jack Carter/Nathan Stark (+ Michael + Janet), (AU: Jack and Zoe never went to Eureka) they're soulmates

We use AO3 to keep track of filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and (cross-)post it to AO3, please add your story to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2019 collection. For more information, please go here.

Today's theme: final countdown. Prompts should include endings, finales, and anything that ranks in last. You may also prompt something about decreasing numbers or time (or song titles/lyrics >:P). As long as the beep, ka-boom, or New Year's kiss happens at zero, you're good to go!

Again, please include the full names of the fandom(s) and character(s). This makes it easier to add prompts to the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and to find prompts through manual search.
(Author's choice prompts and original fills are also more than welcome!)

Examples:
For a single fandom:
✧ Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts series, any/any, New Year's Eve, 1926 or 1927
✧ author's choice, any, it's difficult to believe that the war has finally ended
✧ X-Men (any 'verse), any ensemble, "Well, that's the last of them!"

For multiple fandoms / crossovers:
✧ The Mummy (1999-2008 movies)/Indiana Jones (movies), Evy Carnahan O'Connell + Indiana Jones (+ any), she corrects his hasty translation and the world isn't in danger of ending quite so soon

We use AO3 to keep track of filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and (cross-)post it to AO3, please add your story to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2018 collection. For more information, please go here.
